Ciel tells Francis and Alexis about what happened on his and his brother's tenth birthday: that they were kidnapped and sold to a cult which wanted to use them as human sacrifices in a ritual. During the ritual, Ciel was injured, but he was saved by Undertaker who took care of him for the past years. Francis and Alexis silently listen to him, and then, Ciel asks Francis whether or not she knows and remembers Undertaker as he served her brother before.

Alexis says that, even though the story sounds unbelievable, he trusts Ciel nevertheless, and Ciel apologizes that he could not convince Elizabeth to return home sooner, unintentionally causing them a lot of pain. Then, Francis states that she cannot understand why Ciel had to go so far as to impersonate Ciel as he would have inherited the Phantomhive property and title anyway. Ciel replies that he does not blame his brother for doing so as there has been some concern considering his role as the spare after all. He also says that Ciel surely must have had his reasons and that he most definitely did not mean to hurt anyone with his lies.

Afterward, Ciel declares that, as he has finally returned, he will take over the family's businesses, including the duty as the Queen's Watchdog. He plans to request an audience with the Queen as soon as he feels well enough to do so. Francis tells him to take good care of himself before she and Alexis leave Phantomhive Manor.

Right after they have left, Tanaka enters the study with masses of files. One after another, he places them on Ciel's desk after explaining their contents. Tanaka also tells him about his duties as the new Earl and how he has to manage his lands, tenants, and household. As Ciel left with the servants, Ciel needs to hire new ones, and without someone like Sebastian, he will have to hire considerably more servants than his brother had to: at least, thirty like his father had. Ciel asks Undertaker if he wants to be his butler, and Undertaker only laughs at his request. Then, Ciel asks if he can use Vega or Polaris as his butler, but Undertaker informs him that they are currently busy collecting blood for him.

For two hours, Ciel reads the files while Undertaker makes himself comfortable on the windowsill. Then, Tanaka arrives to ask him if he could come to the entrance hall. There, Ciel is met with samples of Funtom Corporation's new Christmas collection, and he is amazed that his brother managed to make his dream come true. Tanaka asks him what he wants to do with the products, and Ciel says that he should dispose of them as he sees fit before he leaves.In chapter 151, we return to the Phantomhive Manor where we meet Real!Ciel who has resumed his role as the legitimate Earl.

Birthday. Surprisingly, Real!Ciel sticks to the truth as he explains the story, albeit leaving out some convenient details such as the fact that he was sacrificed and used to summon a demon that is his little brother’s butler instead.

The boy credits Undertaker as his saviour from the kidnapping, and clarifies why it took him three years before he returned to the living; namely that he suffered major injuries during the kidnapping, and that it took him all this time to recover properly.

Frances and Alexis seem somewhat sceptic, but otherwise seem to have very little other ground to stand on. Undertaker is present as well, and it is confirmed that Frances and Undertaker’s relation with each other has a history.

“Aunt Frances, I am sure you are familiar with this person? He is one of the people who helped father conduct ‘the business’ of the Phantomhive family, ” Ciel says. “It has been forever, Lady Frances Phantomhive, ” Undertaker greets back.

Frances however, seems less gleeful to see the Undertaker again, and instead comments as follows: “Undertaker… You have not changed at all since the time of my late brother.”

Undertaker replies. “Oh truthfully? In my eyes you have not changed either. It is as though I only saw the image of your childhood only yesterday!”

The exchange of pleasantry to lighten the atmosphere was in vain, and Alexis cuts in. The Marquis admits that though the story does not seem logical to him, they have no choice but to believe Real!Ciel, as the boy is in fact sitting in front of them as ‘living’ evidence.

Real!Ciel manages to fend off Alexis’ doubts by saying something the Midfords would most likely want to hear; an apology regarding the missing of Lizzie. Defeated, Alexis accepts.

Frances however, is less eager to just let the past live in the past, and questions Our!Ciel’s decision to pose as his elder brother.

Real!Ciel remains silent for a moment, but dexterously explains this ‘stupidity’ away using his twin’s insecurity complex, while simultaneously presents himself as ‘the benevolent, understanding big brother’.

After successfully defending his twin from the Midford’s questions, Real!Ciel declares that he intends to resume his official duties as Earl, and acknowledges that the work Our!Ciel has previously done had been excellent and will help him make a good start.

Once back into the office, Tanaka starts piling up all the work ‘the Lord of Phantomhive’ is supposed to do. In this chapter, we get a first glimpse of all the details that constitute a Landlord’s job, and just how overwhelming this all is, especially for a child.

Real!Ciel does not complain, and instead dives into the registers immediately. He studies the data, and realises the ingenuity behind his twin’s past work.

Just before Our!Ciel had returned as the Earl, the Phantomhive land fell into a state of poverty. We learn that in order to solve this poverty, Our!Ciel had imported cheap crops from America, and therewith artificially lowered the domestic prices of agricultural produce, therewith set the financial flow back into motion. Real!Ciel is impressed with his brother’s judgement, and seems to be studying this ingenuity himself.

Tanaka reminds his master that it is of utmost importance that the Phantomhive household should employ servants in order to keep the household running. He explains that with Our!Ciel, it had been unnecessary to employ more servants as Sebastian alone managed to cover for all the chores in running the manor, albeit only barely. Tanaka further explains that trustworthy and capable persons should be installed as senior servants, such as butlers and governesses. He advices the boy to seek his aunt for advice regarding suitable candidates.

Real!Ciel finds it too much of a hassle, and instead asks the Undertaker whether he could become his personal butler. Undertaker does not reply in affirmative, so Real!Ciel suggests the next people in line for candidates, namely Lord Polaris and lord Vega. This sure makes one wonder who these people are, and seems to be a good introduction to their potential appearance in the manga.

Undertaker explains that those candidates would not work either, as ‘they are both currently occupied as they are busy ‘collecting food’ for Real!Ciel’.

As Real!Ciel is kept busy with all the administrative work as the Earl of Phantomhive, Tanaka reports in with ‘a task unrelated to the Earl’s job’, and that the items have presently been arranged at the main entrance.

Real!Ciel heads downstairs and is met with a truly marvellous sight of a mountain of Bitter Rabbits. Tanaka explains that these are the commodities planned for the Christmas Line, produced by the younger brother’s Funtom Company.

Real!Ciel is utterly impressed and praises his twin. “He said that he only came back for revenge, but at the same time he even fulfilled his own dream! I am so impressed by his growth!”

Real!Ciel admits that he had misjudged his twin, thinking that he was foolish to direct his marketing to the lower class despite being a noble aristocrat. But instead, Real!Ciel now sees that his twin not only knew how to go with the times, as well as using his ingenuity to compensate for the incline in land rent.

Tanaka then inquires his master what to do with the commodities, and to the man’s surprise, Real!Ciel tosses the bunny and instructs: “Deal with them as you see fit.”

This is not the chapter I personally expected, but I am not disappointed. For the longest of time I had wondered what the job of an Earl truly constitutes, and just how well Our!Ciel is at all of his jobs. And apparently, the answer is VERY good.

I am quite impressed that Our!Ciel had managed to use the mechanism of import and export to artificially lower the domestic prices, not just for the benefit of the people on the lands that belong to the Phantomhive Earldom, but also for his own business. It is truly fascinating to see what effectively three years of coma means to Real!Ciel; falling behind on the aspect of ‘the business man’. And seeing
